I don’t know about you, but having a trip or holiday booked helps me countdown the days when I am working. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job (who wouldn’t love 24 years of teaching 6-12 year olds?) BUT. IT. IS. EXHAUSTING.
So a little trip (or a big one) booked ahead for 6-12 months is like a light at the end of the tunnel. A little reward for months of hard work! I started 2024 with no real trips booked, except for the annual winter trip to QLD in July to stay with the in laws. And while that is a lovely mini break, its not a new adventure.
So I began yearning for a trip somewhere new. A new country preferably!
Then it was decided, a good friend and I booked a trip to Fiji! 5 nights at the Crowne Plaza, Nadi. We plan on having some much needed downtime by the pool, with a few day trips to gardens, markets, waterfalls and islands.
This will mark my 5th trip to the Pacific Islands –
1996 – End of School Leavers Cruise onboard the Fairstar cruise ship which visited Vanuatu, Lifou and Noumea
1997 – One week in Vanuatu for my Aunt and Uncle’s wedding
2003 – Working on the Pacific Sky cruise ship, back to Vanuatu, Isle of Pines and Noumea
2018 – One week in Western Samoa with a good friend from New Zealand
14 days and counting – Bring on Fiji!
